More Awareness About Cancer
Filed Under Latest News | Leave a Comment
I have took months of rest from this blog for my delivery. My second baby was delivered on 19 September 2008 and named Nur Abdul Aziz. Nothing else matter as long as he is healthy and strong. That’s all I wished for him.

That is one good news happen in September. But another important good things happen also happen in October. Yes, October is Cancer Awareness Month. This month, every one support cancer patients to continue their life. Every cancer association more active provides helps and campaign to people about the important of knowing what is the best life they should adopt to prevent cancer. Every company selling products introducing pink items to show their support. I hope this will increase their donation to cancer patients for their treatments. Even every related website change the look too look more pink. (After this I should change mine too…) I also support all these campaigns as long as they are sincere. The profit should really go to the ones who really deserved…cancer’s patients!
Do I forget the say about pink ribbon? Its everywhere now and wear yours today. Its okay if you want to overdo like this beautiful penguin pass created by Emila. She is a great artist who loves painting, photography and all the artistic stuff. Thank you Emila for creating this pass and added some awareness in her blog.

Paget’s Disease of the Breast
Filed Under Cancer, Latest News, Share Cancer Story | Leave a Comment
Today, I get this email from my schoolmate. Usually I never forward any email that looks suspicious or contains wrong or inaccurate information. So I did little research on the net and found about this disease from this website. This is the link.
The statements that we should worry is here!
The cause of Paget’s disease is unknown, but certain women seem to be at a higher risk of developing breast cancer. This includes women who have never had children, or had them late in life, women who started their periods at a young age or who had a late menopause, and women who have a strong family history of breast cancer.
Read the email here! I did not amend any sentences. But if you want to get the accurate information, I suggest you search from google at the top of this website.
New kind of Breast Cancer - DO NOT DELETE
Please forward to all of the women in your lives . Mothers, daughters, sisters, aunts, friends, etc.
In November, a rare kind of breast cancer was found. A lady developed a rash on her breast, similar to that of young mothers who are nursing.
Because her mammogram had been clear, the doctor treated her with antibiotics for infections. After 2 rounds, it continued to get worse, so her doctor sent her for another mammogram. This time it showed a mass.
A biopsy found a fast growing malignancy. Chemo was started in order to shrink the growth; then a mastectomy was performed; then a full round of Chemo; then radiation. After about 9 months of intense treatment, she was given a clean bill of health.
She had one year of living each day to its fullest. Then the cancer returned to the liver area. She took 4 treatments and decided that she wanted quality of life, not the after effects of Chemo. She had 5 great months and she planned each detail of the final days. After a few days of needing morphine, she died. She left this message to be delivered to women everywhere:
Women, PLEASE be alert to anything that is not normal, and be persistent in getting help as soon as possible.
Paget’s Disease: This is a rare form of breast cancer, and is on the outside of the breast, on the nipple and aureole It appeared as a rash, which later became a lesion with a crusty outer edge. I would not have ever suspecte d it to be breast cancer but it was. My nipple never seemed any different to me, but the rash bothered me, so I went to the doctor for that. Sometimes, it itched and was sore, but other than that it didn’t bother me. It was just ugly and a nuisance, and could not be cleared up with all the creams prescribed by my doctor and dermatologist for the dermatitis on my eyes just prior to this outbreak. They seemed a little concerned but did not warn me it could be cancerous.
Now, I suspect not many women out there know a lesion or rash on the nipple or aureole can be breastcancer. (Mine started out as a single red pimple on the aureole. One of the bi! ggest pr oblems with Paget’s disease of the nipple is that the symptoms appear to be harmless. It is frequently thought to be a skin inflammation or infection, leading to unfortunate delays in detection and care.)
What are the symptoms?

1. A persistent redness, oozing, and crusting of your nipple causing it to itch and burn (As I stated, mine did not itch or burn much, and had no oozing I was aware of, but it did have a crust along the outer edge on one side.)
2. A sore on your nipple that will not heal. (Mine was on the aureole area with a whitish thick looking area in center of nipple).
3. Usually only one nipple is effected. How is it diagnosed? Your doctor will do a physical exam and should suggest having a mammogram of both breasts, done immediately. Even though the redness, oozing and crusting closely resemble dermatitis (inflammation of the skin), your doctor should suspect cancer if the sore is only on one breast. Your doctor should order a biopsy of your sore to confirm what is going on.
This message should be taken seriously and passed on to as many of your relatives and friends as possible; it could save someone’s life.
My breast cancer has spread and metastasized to my bones after receiving mega doses of chemotherapy, 28 treatments of radiation and taking Tamaxofin. If this had been diagnosed as breast cancer in the beginning, perhaps it would not have spread…
TO ALL READERS:
This is sad as women are not aware of Paget’s disease. If, by passing this around on the e-mail, we can make others aware of it and its potential danger, we are helping women everywhere.
Please, if you can, take a moment to forward this message to as many people as possible, especially to your family and friends. It only takes a moment, yet the results could save a life.

High Risk from Chemotherapy?
Filed Under Latest News | Leave a Comment
On
Chemotherapy is often a very effective treatment for cancer but can generate a host of other problems over the course of treatment and beyond. Is this statement tell you everything that we really scared off finally come true. The government organization has already acknowledges the effects, but why doctors never tell us the truth? So, what else that we need to know the risk of chemotherapy.
1) Long term effects of chemotherapy can range from kidney and lung damage, infertility
2) High risk of getting the secondary cancer years after the initial treatment (http://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/chemotherapy-and-you/page5).
3) A research article published March 20, 2007 in the medical journal Cancer Epidemiology Biomarkers & Prevention entitled “Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma Secondary to Cancer Chemotherapy” states that the aggressive chemotherapy credited with prolonging the lives of non-hodgkin lymphoma patients is directly linked to a number of those patients later developing acute myeloid leukemia (http://cebp.aacrjournals.org/cgi/content/abstract/16/3/377).
4) A powerful cycle of chemotherapy eradicates the original cancer, only to lead directly to the onset of a different kind of cancer several years later.
5) The same chemotherapy treatment referenced in the CNN article as a potential cause of heart disease is also known to cause secondary cancer.
6) The American Cancer Society notes that Doxorubicin is so toxic that it will actually cause skin burns if it leaks from a vein during administration.
7) Another chemotherapy drug, Cisplatin, can cause deafness and permanent kidney damage.
Imagine being cured of cancer only to discover that a lifetime of dialysis for dysfunctional kidneys is the price, or that beating cancer comes at the cost of one’s hearing. While these side effects are purported to be rare, they are extreme and troubling.
Mike Adams states: “One of the most common problems in cancer patients who choose to undergo conventional cancer therapy is recurrence. They might think they have beaten their cancer with chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery, only to find a few years later that tumors have spread into other tissues — usually the lungs, brain, or even the reproductive organs. Conventional medicine has not yet caught on to what’s happening here, but the reason why this phenomenon occurs is quite simple: Conventional cancer treatments only treat the symptoms of cancer (tumors or growths) and do not actually do anything to help the patient regain a level of health necessary to keep cancer in check.â€

A ‘Smart Bra’ to Detect Breast Cancer?
Filed Under Latest News | Leave a Comment

Its so interesting to read about the new research done by Center for Research and Innovation at University of Bolton in United Kingdom invented ‘Smart Bra’. The inventor Professor Elias Siores says the device can detect cancer before the tumor can develop and spread into the surrounding areas.
Siores adds that an audible or visual alarm would be incorporated into the bra, which would alert wearers to the potential need for further medical expert diagnosis and assessment. The concept at play is known as thermography, the detection of subtle temperature changes within the breast. Spot elevations in temperature, Siores says, could denote an increase to blood flow to a developing tumor.
When the article about this publish in abcnews.go.com lots of comments from readers - as usually, some positives and more negatives. Even one of the reader gives sarcasm remarks that its the dumbest idea. He said this will cause another sickness, Heart Attack because it will trigger panic cause by alarm sound. Why would we pre-judge before we see the actual thing. Even the prototype just in the proses of development, yet we already pre-assume its not good? This is a new and smart invention in my opinion. We should give our support and see the results first before make any judgment.
Science have done lots of wonderful thing in our life. Do not pre-judge! Some experiment fails but lots are contributes to our life. Everything just start with a prototype. Lets wait and see the results.
